When opened, there is usually a green bar that proceeds very slowly until the folder's contents are accessible. Folders are often delayed in opening, and sometimes take two tries to open. When starting, icons usually appear in a staggered fashion, it's a long time before the start menu is ready. When shut down, the monitor turns off normally, but the computer runs on for a good while past when it should have turned off. But copying to the desktop goes at 300 kbps - 1 Mbps.) (In the course of backing-up my data, I have found that copying from the desktop-and only the desktop-can still go at 50 - 100 Mbps. Prior to December, this went at the rate of 50 - 100 Mbps, frequently higher. Copying files from directory to directory, to a USB-connected hard drive or to a USB flash drive goes at the rate of 300 kbps - 1 Mbps, often at zero rate. Since late December my computer has been operating 100x slower than before. I have a c-drive SSD with the operating system and some programs, and a d-drive 2TB magnetic drive with data and most programs. I have a 64-bit operating system, Intel Core i7-4770 Quad-core, Radeon R9 270x graphics accelerator.
